Why Choose the UWA AT&SMC?

Located in Livingston, AL, The University of West Alabama Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Center houses the athletic training staff for the University of West Alabama athletics and the High School Outreach program. It is also home to both an undergraduate and graduate CAATE Accredited athletic training education program that helps prepare students to pass the Board of Certification (BOC) exam. 

The UWA AT&SMC was established in 1986 to organize and formalize efforts toward the improvement of athletic health care in West Alabama through education. The Center is staffed primarily by a fantastic team of full-time certified athletic trainers, graduate assistant athletic trainers, and an always-evolving group of athletic training students. Support personnel include orthopaedists, family practice physicians, physical therapists, exercise physiologists, biomechanists, health and physical educators, and others in related areas.
